FAQs and Links

Is the dome wheelchair accessible?
Absolutely! Let us know when booking your Day
of Wonder that wheel chair access is required. The dome also allows
for rapid evacuation in the event of an emergency.
Are there discounts available?
For schools who take the opportunity to book both
the mobile planetarium and the Robot Experience, we will give
you a discount of 10% off the total price. Special offers may
be available at other times of the year – look out for our
flyers!
Can we book you for just one planetarium show?
You can book for just a morning session, when
we present 3 shows. We have a wide range of shows available, for
the Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, so we are sure
you will find it harder to choose which shows you don’t
want, rather than trying to find enough shows that you do want!
Can we book the robot experience for just a
morning or afternoon?
You can, in fact many schools take a whole day booking and then spread it across two year groups. Sometimes that might be for Years 5 and 6 but at other times it has been for Years 2 and 6. We are experienced in all key stages and can offer the experience that is perfect for you and your pupils.
Can the dome be used outside?
Although the dome is light proof it is not
sound proof, or wind proof! We will need a 6.5 m x 6.5 m space
to set up the dome. A school hall or gym is ideal. The dome can
be deflated so the hall can be used for lunches, and set up again
after lunch.
Can you support astronomy badges for the scouts, cubs and beavers?
We offer three shows especially tailored for scouts. Click here for more details.
